If you are reading this it’s probably because you are considering doing a photo session with me and of course you are curious to know a little more about who I am and how I work.
My name is Birgitte. I am Danish, from Copenhagen, but I have lived in Italy for more than fifteen years. For many years I lived and worked in Rome, but since 2011 I have been based in Florence where I live with my six year old daughter and our two cats.
I’m a very down-to-earth person – easy to impress with the simple things in life: My morning coffee, the smell of summer rain, the arrival of fall, a good book – and many other things.
My style is inspired by my Nordic roots: Light, nature, simplicity. I love to photograph people who aren’t afraid of being themselves and I love love love working with children. I believe in the beauty of everyday life, and I believe in the importance of documenting it.
When you do a portrait session with me there will be no poses, no props, no big coordinated smiles while all of you look into the camera. Instead you get to spend a lovely time together as a family doing all the things you like best. At your own home or on an outdoor location. Together we will create a series of authentic, honest and intense portraits. You will receive loads of beautiful and carefully edited color and black and white images full of life, emotions, laughter, and joy – images which will make you see your everyday life with new eyes.
Sessions in Copenhagen I travel to Copenhagen several times a year. During these stays I always keep some days open for photo sessions in and around the Danish capital. Dates will be published here, in my newsletter and on my social media profiles, but feel free to get in touch if you would like to know about upcoming dates.
