Paris in b&w
I never published these black and white film photos from Paris, since some of them had some serious flaws, and it felt a bit like cheating to correct them. One of my most sacred rules is in fact that I never edit my analog work digitally.
Well, almost never.
I have done it with a very few photos, but only because they were otherwise truly amazing photos, which were being ruined because of a teeny tiny stupid mistake (Typically it’s something in the corner of the frame, which disturbs the whole image, or it’s a straight line, which isn’t straight.) In these cases I would decide that saving the photo had to win over my ethical values!
The same goes for some of these photos. A few lines have been straightened, and one photo has been slightly cropped. I hope you can enjoy them anyway and forgive me for cheating.
Champs-Élysées as seen from the Arc de Triomphe, Le Marais, the view from the roof top terrace og Galeries Lafayettes, and finally La Coupole at Montparnasse. All shot on Ilford hp5 plus 400.
Oh, how I want to go back to Paris…
