Winter on film and a new photography project

My latest roll of Kodak Portra 400 stayed a long time inside the camera and ended up covering both summer and winter in Florence and Copenhagen.

While I do love the surprise of seeing what an old roll of film holds for me, I also need to shoot a bit more often. Luckily I just found out about a film photography challenge on Instagram, which seems to be a match made in heaven for me.

The project is called #12monthsonfilm, and the rules are quite simple: Shoot a different roll of film each month on as many different film cameras as you have. While I only have three cameras (and one Polaroid) to switch between, I am looking forward to trying out new kinds of film, as I always end up with the usual safe choices.

Since I only discovered this project two days ago, I have decided that my set up for January is gonna be what is already in use since January, 1st: Kodak Portra 400 and Contax Tvs. I know it’s my usual “safe” and slightly boring set up, but I promise to make some more courageous choices for the rest of the year.

I am really looking forward to sharing the photos from this new project and to get inspired by all the other film photographers who participate.
