Rundetaarn (the Round Tower) was built by King Christian IV and dates back to 1642.
From the outside it’s “just” a round tower but inside it’s simply beautiful – it’s definitely one of my favorite buildings in Copenhagen.
To get to the top you have to walk up a long spiral walk with white walls and windows all the way up. This is one beautiful place to take pictures – especially when the sun comes in through the windows casting beautiful shadows on the floor.
Kids love to come here. They run up and down the walk, they hide around the corners, and once they get to the top of the tower, they can enjoy a stunning view over Copenhagen.
